    SC Definition:<\/h3>\n

    The International Symposium on Chinese Spoken Language Processing Steering Committee (ISCSLP-SC)<\/strong> is a committee within SIG-CSLP that serves as the decision-making body overseeing all issues<\/strong> related to ISCSLP events.<\/p>\n

    SC Composition:<\/h3>\n

    The committee consists of 12 members<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • 8 regional members<\/strong>:\n
        \n
      • 2 from Mainland China<\/li>\n
      • 2 from Taiwan<\/li>\n
      • 1 from Hong Kong<\/li>\n
      • 1 from Singapore<\/li>\n
      • 2 from areas outside these four regions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • 4 non-regional members<\/strong>:\n
          \n
        • 2 immediately previous ISCSLP General Chairs (excluding the co-chair)<\/li>\n
        • Current SIG-CSLP Chairperson<\/li>\n
        • Immediately previous SIG-CSLP Chairperson, who will serve as the SC Chair<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          SC Membership Terms:<\/h3>\n
            \n
          • Each member, in principle, serves a term of four years<\/strong>, starting on January 1 of the year immediately following their election.<\/li>\n
          • The non-regional members<\/strong> serve a term of two years<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
          • Regional members can be re-nominated<\/strong> to serve another four-year term after leaving the SC for at least two years<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
          • A regional member can serve a maximum of two four-year terms<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
          • If the current SIG-CSLP Chair is re-elected, the previous two SIG-CSLP Chairs will stay on the SC for an additional two-year term<\/strong>, and the current SC Chair will continue in their role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            SC Member Replacement:<\/h3>\n
              \n
            • Each regional member must nominate a replacement from the same region two months<\/strong> before their term expires.<\/li>\n
            • The nomination must be endorsed by the majority<\/strong> of SC members.<\/li>\n
            • If any of the 8 regional members also serve in non-regional roles, they can still nominate their regional replacement.<\/li>\n
            • Six members will be replaced every two years<\/strong>, unless there are conflicts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Initial Replacement Cycle:<\/h3>\n
                \n
              • To start the first cycle, four of the eight regional members will serve a six-year term<\/strong>, and the other four will serve a four-year term<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
              • After the first four years (in 2015), the terms of the four regional members with a four-year term will expire.<\/li>\n
              • After two more years (in 2017), the terms of the remaining four regional members (with six-year terms) will expire.<\/li>\n
              • From 2017 onward, a regular replacement cycle of half the members<\/strong> will begin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Commencement of the New ISCSLP-SC:<\/h3>\n

                The new ISCSLP-SC officially commenced on January 1, 2011<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
